Summit

Central and convenient with a laidback, rural feel

Situated right in between Tacoma and Puyallup, Summit is a quieter area that offers a relaxed, more rural atmosphere than its neighboring cities. In fact, homes in Summit will have either a Tacoma or Puyallup address, although the area is technically unincorporated Pierce County. And while Summit may not be as well known as its adjacent counterparts, living in this scenic community comes with several noteworthy benefits.

One of the major perks of living in this area is how central you are as well as the fact that Summit runs right along Highway 512. This makes it easy to get around the area, whether you are heading to Puyallup, the Port of Tacoma, Downtown Tacoma, Lakewood, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and more. You can also quickly connect to Interstate-5 from here, opening up your options for traveling north to Seattle or south to Olympia. You’ll find plenty of convenience without having to leave Summit, too—Canyon Road features grocery stores, hardware and farm supply stores, dozens of eateries to choose from, and much more.

Many people also choose to live in Summit due to the opportunities that await to live on larger lots. There’s more space to spread out here and create the property you’ve been dreaming about! You can expect your neighbors to have horses grazing in picturesque pastures, or have goats and chickens roaming alongside huge gardens. The potential to live a more rural lifestyle awaits, but you’ll also find plenty of planned communities with newer homes to choose from as well.
