Key Peninsula

Nestled in the Puget Sound and home to community-minded residents.

Stretching from the Purdy Spit to the southern tip, Key Peninsula is a community made up of the smaller towns of Wauna, Key Center, Vaughn, Home, Lakebay, Longbranch and the nearby Herron Island. While many residents in the area value privacy, a helping hand isn’t far away in this close-knit, easygoing community.

Key Peninsula offers a comfortable balance of more rural, open spaces, and areas that are more populated with small neighborhoods. There are a few more urban-feeling spots, including Key Center, but for the most part, many businesses are smaller ventures. An area that enjoys their traditions, many generations have grown up on Key Peninsula, making it a multi-generational community of independent individuals. There are plenty of opportunities for enjoying the outdoors, including the beautiful Joemma Beach State Park and Penrose Point State Park. Boating is a popular activity, and Key Peninsula offers deep water moorage, waterfront properties, marinas, and plenty of opportunity for getting out on the Puget Sound.

The peninsula offers a wide variety of homes, from elaborate waterfront properties, gated communities, large acreage horse properties and working farms to more modest frame built homes, log cabins and manufactured homes. Homes range from late 1800s farmhouses to contemporary mansions, and the area is an attractive option for buyers who seek affordable waterfront properties.
