“While primarily residential, the Town of Ruston offers countless opportunities for fun experiences,” shares REALTOR® Austin Wagner. “Being a quiet but central location, the Town of Ruston gives families the opportunity to become more involved with events and the community.”

From exploring the outdoors at Point Defiance (which includes Owen Beach, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Fort Nisqually and more), going for a nice jog along the waterfront (stop at Dickman Mill Park for a rest), or enjoying an evening out at Harbor Lights, Two Town Pub, or Point Ruston Century Theatre, Ruston is a destination neighborhood that will keep you coming back time and time again! In addition to the theatre at Point Ruston, you can also take advantage of their dining, pubs and bars, the Jewel Box Cafe, and more.

“[People] love the easy access to multiple parks and scenic walks, in addition to having grocery stores, schools and entertainment in close proximity,” elaborates Austin. He emphasizes that the Town of Ruston is a place of gathering, and several events are held in the neighborhood throughout the year.

“In summer, Taste of Tacoma is hosted in Point Defiance Park and Point Ruston hosts the Summer Concert Series. [During] the winter, Point Ruston also hosts the Indigo Frozen Fountain Ice Rink while Point Defiance Zoo puts on Zoo Lights. Additionally, the Point Ruston Valentine’s Day 5k is right around the corner,” adds Austin.
