“Teachers are the lifeblood of the community and DonorsChoose.org is an organization for teachers,” shares REALTOR® Greg Devey. “It helps connect teachers to the community and gives the community a place to donate to whatever teacher they choose to help fill the needs of their classroom.”

DonorsChoose.org was created in 2000 by a high school teacher in the Bronx to fill a need that’s all too common. Too many teachers these days struggle with getting their students what they need to be successful, whether it’s basic supplies that school district funding won’t cover or it’s something for a special classroom project.

“Many teachers have to pay for basic classroom needs out of their own pockets,” points out Greg. “We need to help these teachers out! They are shaping the minds of our children.”

That’s where DonorsChoose.org comes in and can help make a big impact! Teachers use the website to list projects and classroom needs, and you can choose to donate money to whichever ones interest you.
