Since 2003, Families Unlimited Network has been working in and serving members of the University Place community. In addition to their important food bank, F.U.N. also hosts The Spot, an afterschool program for kids, provides valuable services to families, help students receive the back-to-school items they need, and more.

“One of my favorite charities is Families Unlimited Network in University Place,” shares REALTOR® Regina Madiera-Gorden. “My kids have volunteered in the food bank, and I've known the manager, Angi Unger, for years. This summer I partnered with one of my favorite Zumba instructors at the YMCA, Angel Rodriquez, and my team hosted ‘Zumba in the Park’ as a FUNdraiser for F.U.N. We had a blast! We hosted the event at Chambers Bay.”

Regina shared an insightful comment from one of the ‘Zumba in the Park’ participants: “One of the participants said, ‘We didn't realize there were families in need in UP (University Place).’ When I mentioned this to Angi at FUN, she told us that just that day she signed up 11 new families that are homeless in UP, with their kids attending schools.”

It might not always be apparent, but there are families in all of our communities who need our help! Currently, F.U.N. especially needs gallon Ziplock baggies that are filled with with napkins, plastic silverware, plates, and cups. You can read more about their specific donation needs here.

How can you help out? “Our brokerage is hosting a food drive to benefit F.U.N. right now for the holidays,” Regina elaborated. “Every year I have at least ten bags of donated goods that my clients bring to my Annual Holiday Breakfast with Santa. This year, my neighborhood has stepped up their donations as well.”
