The House That Windermere Built with Habitat for Humanity Tacoma/Pierce County

August 1, 2022

A group of local Windermere offices are working together to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Tacoma/Pierce County, including Windermere Professional Partners. We are excited to see what we can all accomplish together!

Windermere real estate agents already donate a portion of every sale to the Windermere Foundation. The Foundation then supports communities in need, such as homeless families and low-income families, with special emphasis on helping children. So far, the Windermere Foundation has raised over $45 million since 1989.

This year, agents can choose to donate to The House That Windermere Built instead of the Windermere Foundation. In 2022, our goal is to raise a total of $75,000. To check in on our progress, click here! You’ll be able to see exactly how much money we’ve raised so far, and more.

According to the main donation page, “For too long, home ownership has been kept out of reach for many Black, Indigenous and Communities of Color. We seek to redefine home equity, deploy a data-driven strategy, intentionally reduce barriers for historically excluded populations, and work proactively to generate new opportunities to homeownership for historically underrepresented and marginalized people.”

Habitat for Humanity plays a major role in many communities, and we are inspired by the work that Habitat for Humanity of Tacoma/Pierce County does. We are committed to doing our part to drive change, and it’s important to us to make access to home ownership equitable. This is in part because home ownership is a pathway to building stable communities and generational wealth. Habitat for Humanity of Tacoma/Pierce County works to create more affordable housing in Pierce County.
