At Windermere Professional Partners we understand that doing our part to help low income families in their community is not just the right thing to do, its a natural extension of their business as real estate agents.

On Thursday night the WPP office threw a fundraiser at the NW Furniture bank’s Tacoma warehouse to raise funds for this amazing program, complete with food, raffle, prizes, and even a talent show!

“Our partnership with NWFB makes a lot of sense given what they do and what we do.” Says Jeff Williams, a Realtor with Windermere Professional Partners. “We work with homeowners every day that are moving and have furniture to give.”

NW Furniture Bank helps restore hope, dignity and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture to people in need. In Tacoma and greater Pierce County, dozens of agencies work with the homeless and low-income population providing temporary housing and substance abuse recovery programs. When their clients complete the programs and leave, they may have new housing and a new focus for their life, but they often have no furniture to sleep, sit, or eat on. In addition to these clients, furniture is available for foster children who age-out of the program, and for people who lose all of their possessions in natural disasters such as fire or flood. – NW Furniture Bank

Dozens of WPP Agents turned out for the event that included a speech by NW Furniture Bank Founder Bill Lemke, testimonials from people the Furniture Bank serves, and finished off with a hilarious dance performance by Windermere Professional Partners Agents Corey Matney, Jeff Williams, Monica Scott, and Jacob Jezek. “I am very impressed by the heart and vision behind the furniture bank.” says Corey Matney, “Bill’s speach and the testimonials from the people NW Furniture Bank serves really helped us remember to stay focussed on what’s really important.”

Windermere Professional Partners reached their goal of raising $2,000 for the furniture bank in one night, but they’re going back again next month. “We’re looking forward to Windermere Community Service Day June 17th,” Says Jeff. “We’ll be able to really get to work helping people that need furniture and assembling furniture for the furniture bank. We’re so proud to support this organization.”
