Windermere Professional Partners

An important time to be “All In”

June 15, 2020

I would like to take a moment to share some of my thoughts from the past several weeks.

It is no secret that our country is experiencing real and significant pain related to the racial injustice that exists in our society. I would like to let you all know how Windermere Professional Partners is going to respond.

Human decency demands that we overtly act. The following is how we will respond:

  • Living Our Values - We will ensure that we collectively as a WPP family bring to life the WPP Formal Statements. One selection of the Formal Statements states: “We are an inclusive and diverse community” and “Windermere Professional Partners combines personal magnetism with strong values. We are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, disciplined, thoughtful & dynamic. We are authentic. We are leaders.” Every aspect of what I have just written illustrates that when our community is in pain, we will act and be leaders in the real estate community. We will stay engaged in the conversations and forums and become a continuously learning company.
  • Well Being - We will offer additional support and healing opportunities to those within our firm who need it.
  • Listening - I will take action here and meet and listen to the concerns and suggestions from all of you. Myself, our Operations Team and Staff will undergo Equity and Inclusion training, so our firm is prepared to provide unilateral support for our brokers, and our community. We will follow that up by providing education and training within the firm, to those interested in learning more about diversity and the opportunities it offers for both personal and professional growth. In addition to the education and training, we are going to support agent led group discussions to continue the conversations around race and equity.
  • Messaging - Our Marketing Department will be publishing media that illustrates our commitment to honoring and respecting diversity both internally and externally. This will be a permanent addition to our marketing plan.

It is my sincere hope that all of us see this for what it is, which is standing strong in support of people of color (and in particular Black people) within our firm, our community, and our country. This decision is neither left nor right; it is about embracing and valuing all people in our community and being in alignment with our Formal Statements.

This is a personal issue for me because I like to “fix things” and I cannot individually fix this for the people that I care about in my life. This makes me sad, frustrated, and committed to doing everything I can to do my work and make a difference.

As always, I welcome your suggestions, concerns, and support.

This is the time to be "All In” for each other.
