With the weather getting nice, it's time for those long walks on the beach you hear so much about! REALTOR® Morgan Mullin and her dog, Bentley, have put our local beaches to the test, and she’s sharing 5 of their favorites with us!

1. Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park

This is great a great spot for anyone to enjoy. It provides a variety of activities, from the beach itself, picnic tables, places to BBQ, etc. Plus it's right next to Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium as well as scenic 5 Mile Drive and Trails. This is the perfect spot for those sunny days of relaxing and hanging out with great company.

2. Titlow Beach

Titlow Beach provides a great stretch of beach at low tide. You can catch an awesome view of the Cascades and the Narrows Bridge from the beach’s lookout on a clear day. And on the other side of the train tracks, there is a park with a playground, a swimming pool and a free sprayground. While you’re in the neighborhood, remember to stop by Steamers Seafood Cafe, with its dog friendly deck that earns Bentley’s stamp of approval. The Beach Tavern is another local favorite, too, if you’re hungry after that walk on the beach!

3. Chambers Bay Beach

Chambers Bay of course is known for its golf course and walking trail around the course, but they also have a little section of beach as well!

“I have found this is usually a little less crowded once you get down to the actual beach,” says Morgan, “which can sometimes be nice when you have an energetic dog like Bentley who thinks it's his job to be friends with everyone.”

4. Ruston Way/North Tacoma Waterfront

Our waterfront is well known for the abundance of restaurants and people walking and jogging along its shore. There are several places along the way where you can sneak down to the beach or walk along some of the docks. Make sure you check out the great view of Downtown Tacoma and Mt. Rainier!

5. Sunnyside Beach in Steilacoom

Sunnyside is another beach that offers a little something for everyone. There is the beach itself, a playground, picnic tables, volleyball net, and some grassy areas to sit back and relax as well. All of this is just outside of the adorable town of Steilacoom which has some great restaurants like Topside Bar and Grill where you can sit on the rooftop, take in the views and watch the ferry come in.
